THE DIGITRAN HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS
Digital printing meets heat transfer decoration
The DIGITRAN heat transfer process combines digital printing and heat transfer decoration in a unique way. The result: a process that enables flawless, high-resolution print results on a wide range of different print objects.
Digital printing and transfer. This combination is perfect for printing on different materials. Whether in the DIGITRAN process with toner-based transfers for packaging and advertising materials, or in the DTF (Direct to Film) process for textiles.
Das DIGITRAN-Verfahren
The DIGITRAN process begins with the electrographic digital printing of photorealistic designs onto a carrier material. The carrier material used in this process has a special finish and is cut and wound onto format-appropriate rolls after printing. These rolls are then sent to our customers and inserted into a heat transfer machine for the application.
The digital prints are printed in the CMYK color space with a very opaque white as the fifth color. The maximum resolution here is a photorealistic 1,200 dpi. In terms of print width, a spectrum from i-dot size up to 320 mm wide can be implemented. Seamless continuous printing of different designs in running direction is possible, allowing personalization or serialization of the printed images. A special workflow has been developed to ensure true color reproduction of the desired colors, which promises maximum accuracy even for repeat jobs.
Depending on the shape and type of your products, the printed design and items are positioned precisely on the object. The digitally printed image is then transferred to the item using heat and pressure. By using different finishes on the heat transfers image, strong adhesion can be created on almost any material. During this process, the motif is completely removed from the carrier material, which can then be recycled.
This process is already in use when it comes to printing tubes, cosmetic packaging, yardsticks and a wide variety of promotional products.
DTF (Direct to Film)
The process is very similar in DTF printing. The only difference is that the transfers are produced as large, 60 cm wide rolls or sheets. In addition, the print resolution and ink application are adapted to the textile applications.
Good to know: DIGITRAN heat transfer decals are have be tested and approved by an independent institute and fulfill the requirements for the indirect food contact and toys as well.
